Call for Vendors: Ely Farmers Market

My name is Ali Alldredge and I am a part of a local group interested in growing the farmers market in Ely. This year’s market will be held on Tuesdays from 4-6:30 pm and on Saturdays from 8am-noon. The market will run from May 1st through September. We may add a few Sundays or extend the season into October based on interest. The market will be located a busy corner on the community center lawn and will be heavily advertized. Our first marketing day will be on May 1st and will coincide with our town’s garage and book sale.

Booth fees for the season have been set at $75 (for more than 44 selling opportunities). A punch card for twenty market days is $35 and single day fees are $5.

If you would be interested in participating in our market, please contact Ali Alldredge at 319-848-2036 or alialldredge@southslope.net. Let us know if you would be interested in being added to our mailing list to hear about any additional markets we might schedule. Please pass this information on to anyone who might be interested.

Call for vendors for the Ely Farmers market!

We are tentatively still planning on Saturdays and Tuesday afternoons starting May 1st.

PRAIRIEWOODS, the Franciscan Retreat and Conference Center in Hiawatha, is sponsoring a Local Farmer and CSA Food Fair, Sunday March 28 from 1 to 4 PM at Prairiewoods. Join the Prairiewoods folks for the first Local Farmer and CSA Fair and meet some of the producers behind Iowa’s CSA’s ( Community supported Agriculture).
A CSA is a way for consumers and farmers to join together to support local agriculture. Members purchase a share of the harvest in advance of the growing season. In return you receive a weekly supply of high quality locally grown fresh vegetables and herbs throughout the growing season.
Various food growing farmers will have information at this fair about how to add fresh vegetables and herbs to your diet throughout the Iowa growing season. The fair will also include tours of Prairiewoods and refreshments. The fair is sponsored by local Foods Connection, IVRC&D ( Iowa Valley Resource and Development) and Prairiewoods. No fee.
